The VacciCheck Test
What is it?
The VacciCheck Test is a simple in-clinic titre test designed to determine the existing protective immunity in your dog. Results from this test will help to inform your decisions on revaccination intervals in your dogs. It tests your dog’s immunity to parvovirus, distemper and infectious hepatitis.
The VacciCheck test requires a simple blood sample and provides a result while you wait, therefore if a vaccination is still required, it can be carried out in the same visit.
Whilst vaccinations are safe, we know that some of our owners would prefer not to vaccinate every year if it is not essential and, for a dog that already has sufficient immunity, a booster will not provide any additional immunity. Importantly, the test takes away the guesswork and will give you the peace of mind that your dog still has immunity to these potentially life threatening diseases, rather than just taking a chance.
Members of our Pet Care Plan can avail of the VacciCheck test instead of the annual booster. If your dog is found to have limited immunity and requires vaccination, this will be charged at normal rates.
The VacciCheck test costs £30, however if we can arrange groups of dogs to test together, this price drops, so why not encourage your friends to participate too. This service is open to new and existing clients.
